winter is not a happy time for me
i get depressed
i feel shut in
i am not a snow bunny
luckily this year has been mild
and i actually appreciate the little showings of snow
went to visit my buddy Theresa Rose
and upon leaving, everything was dipped in snow
love the contrast
just like life
and just as I got home,
I proceeded to hit another car at a stoplight
everyone was fine, but talk about a contrast to the tranquility of this shot.
the often overlooked contains what we all need to see.
how like is stitched together so beautifully.
we get busy.
life flies past.
just take a moment and see the simple joy of what is right in front of you.
As a parent we think all our kids are perfect
I have always told my son that God makes no mistakes
We waited and prayed that he would grow
and now we are helping things along
NO its not growth hormone, as I would never adjust my child
this is testosterone, only to help along his process as it is about 4 years behind
No one wants to have a child suffer
and yet, no matter how many uplifting talks, hugs and don’t worry what they say speeches,
it just doesn’t get easier
being small for a boy is not cute,
and the daily bullying is more than any heart can bear.
Mind you, he has a heart of a lion
and his character has had a lot of “building”
I only ask,
that if you see someone that is different from you,
don’t point
don’t use derogatory words
just accept
and love.
it could be my child whom you are hurting.

I had a hard time with this one. Thus the late post.
I am a person whose mind rarely shuts down.
This is a blessing and a curse.
Especially when you want to go to sleep.
But it is also the “search engine” that fuels my creativity.
I can’t just look at something objectively, i see it as a potential piece of art.
Or a location as how it will enhance a gorgeous High School Senior.
I see the beauty in the ordinary, often overlooked.
I am inspired by my children, how they are so full of promise and hope.
I am inspired by my husband, who loves me even when I don’t love myself.
My Heavenly Father inspires me daily with His grace and mercy that i can’t even begin to comprehend.
People everywhere, all around me, are inspiration. To be better, to love more and most importantly, to be me.
so there you have it.
I took this picture as I was getting into the car. It happens like that, the light shifts, my eye catches a moment frozen in time.

I am not big on resolutions.
that being said, for 2012 i have had a big breakthrough in life.
I will not allow anyone to DEFINE me.
I will be me
i will be the best mom i can
i will love my husband with my whole heart
I will be the caring friend
I will look for the positive in all things
I will keep photography as a joy
I will make relationships with my clients
I will create memories for them
I will not try to be anything other than me
I will not give my art away
I will value the gift God has given me
I will not let anyone tell me i am less than
I will stand up for myself
I will be ok with who i am
and not be ruled by a scale or what the tv shows me
I will define ME.
and i am ok with that.
- All great "resolutions." These are all things I need to work on, too!
- Cheering you on as you grow in who YOU are! Great focus, btw.
As the year is closing, it is a time of reflection.
This year has been such a blessing to me both personally and professionally. I can’t begin to explain how I have grown and learned.
Mostly through the amazing clients I have grown to love. What a great honor to witness a marriage, showcase the beauty of a High School Senior, or the loving bonds of a family.
That is truly what it is all about for me. The people. The relationships. The moments.
Thank you for all the cherished memories. Looking forward to seeing what 2012 has to offer.

They sure have grown since last years beach session.
We tried out the urban playground of the Third Ward, and it was cool. ( Only 17 degrees out too)
They sure were good sports, and the cookies i promised helped a little.

Abbie and Kyler, just two of the most adorable people, and so in love.
But something was missing.
Meet Rosie. She is the newest addition to the family. And let me tell you this, she is a heartbreaker.
